Yea, Roosters and Turkeys, Oh NO. No sleep in Van Wert. Motel sounds great. Maybe even a campground if there is one close.

The hotels are very limited there and there was an issue with one for sure last year. I stayed in Decatur, IN which I think was about 20 miles away. I think it was a Days Inn. It was nice and if it was 20 miles, it sure didn't seem like it. The great folks that live there will probably be glad to check things out for us all again.

We stayed at a campground pretty close. Dakota and Debbie and Ron were there too. We were off by ourselves a little. It was nice.

We stayed at the Guest Keeper last year. It was a nice place $50.00 per night + $10.00 per dog. They have a really nice large grass area out behind the hotel, and only 2 miles from the Fairgrounds!! Hi Beth,
Denny, Brew and I are hoping to go to Van Wert this year also. Not sure if we'll be there the whole time or just Friday thru Monday but we'll see what happens! We'd also be interested in the campground info. I've heard it was a little noisy last year at the fair grounds! I"m hoping to decide how long we'll be there and make reservations soon. Thanks so much,

Well it is either Huggy Bear Campground or Pleasant Grove Campground in Van Wert. I can't believe that I would stay in a place called Huggy Bear so I probably stayed in the other one.

Is the Virginia Outdoor Sportsman Classic a short dock or long dock event? The one in Roanoak, VA. Also, is it UKC? Thanks.

If you go the the main web page there is a 2008 schedule page that lists all the info know about each event- long/short UKC or not. some are TBD yet

Long dock! Most of summer events are long dock unless a demo type event.
