Must Reads! Great Pyrenees 8 week old puppy

Post by labpaw on Thu May 22, 2008 9:01 pm

WHAT A WEEK AT WORK!!!! Oops! First we got a 9 week old Maltese x Poodle cross that someone paid $1,000 for, found out it had treatable intestinal parasites, and surrendered the puppy to us. huh? Not 15 minutes after I found that one a home today, I get a call that a friend of a client has an 8 week old, male pure bred Great Pyrenees puppy that needs to be placed today. Guess the teenaged son came home with it Tuesday and the Mom said "NO" hit head hit head hit head . Soooo..... here are some pictures. Any takers (and before you even say it, HE IS NOT STAYING AT OUR HOUSE even though Gracie already thinks he is her new baby and Abraham, Webbie, and Goolosh are thrilled to have a new play toy)??? I have given him his physical (perfect health), dewormed him, and given his first distemper combo vaccine. PLEASE HELP!!!! paw THANK YOU!!! paw

Alisa, Kristy said if I can get him to MI I can have him! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a way to get him to me! I missed out on the Bernese last week and I was pretty bummed. I love the big furry ones (as noted by our Newman). She said we can foster him to start and there is a chance he can stay forever if I behave Ultimate Air Elation . He is soo cute. What a pretty furball.

Jason,

I know for a fact that a few folks are going to be at The Rock Classic that are from MI Just kidding! .... I have one other family that I promised could look at him, but..... if they didn't work out..... maybe we could get the UAD family involved and have a puppy convoy???

OMG... he is ADORABLE. My first dog was a Pyr. If we didn't already have six... and if my family and husband wouldn't kill me for it... I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I hope he makes it to MI and Jason... he'd have a good home there... plus I could play with him at events. Just kidding! Here's to hoping!

Well, I only have one other family that talked to me earlier, and I kinda think it might be a no-go (only because they are getting a new kitten and it might be too much all at once with the older cats and dog in the house). He is really a nice dog. He was great with my cats and Team Blabador (even the cheerleaders Just kidding! ). He clearly knows doggie body language as he submits to the dominant ones. He seems middle of the road as far as assertiveness. I like that in a dog! love4

Ooooohhhhhh...... Jaaaasooooonnnn...... whistle

If the other family can't/doesn't take him. We could be 'persuaded' to let that cute guy crash here. Of course, we would need the UAD family to help get him to us. We aren't going to the Rock Classic, but I bet we could find someone . . . whistle he could hitch a ride back with whisper (anyone?)

Keep us posted!

UPDATE:

So we have taken to calling him "Foster" ("puppy monster" wasn't working so well You make me laugh ti )... it just seemed appropriate. Just kidding! He is great with kitties, people and dogs of all sizes. Hot Dawg He is somewhat of a lazy puppy in that we go outside for a potty break, and he plops down in the grass for a short snooze. Sleep He has mastered the stairs (up & down) and is learning about crate training. He got his first bath (by the way, he is NOT AT ALL AFRAID OF THE WATER Jump, jump, jump! - we were cleaning his crate from an accident, and he walked right in the line of fire of the hose and it knocked him over. He stood up, wagged his tail, and came right back for more Karaoke anyone? ). He sleeps through the night and is also learning about doing his potties OUTSIDE! paw

All is all, he is a pretty easy puppy (especially for being so young). We took some more pictures of him, but I need to download them of the camera. He is going to be a hard one to give up because he is such a sweet natured little fella. love5

I did help poor Pooh. Na Na Thankfully Foster is not real persistent, so I didn't have to save Parker again! running dog
