Dont Miss! Flyball video...

Post by gatorblueyes on Mon Feb 18, 2008 9:29 pm

I haven't posted a flyball video in a while and since some of you met Jubs this weekend I figured I would drop one. This is a montage of her new team Storm Riders. Please ignore our dance in the begining Embarassed ...I was dancing and singing to her because she just got her Champion Gold title and someone got it on video Golly Gee! . Blame it on the flu I just had...102 degree fever for three days does funny things to ya Oops! .

My Australian Shepherd races Flyball as well. 4.3 seconds and very consistent. He holds his FMCh title and is only about three tournaments away from his Onyx!

How cool is that!!!!!! wave

I know Sally would be so good that flyball. She's so fast and so focused. If I get some extra time, I'm going to have to check into that. I'm sure in the Atlanta area, there must be some flyball group.

Thanks, Andrea, for sharing. bigthumb

Hey Melissa,

Do you have any experience with neoprene wraps? I was considering possibly getting some so we don't go through vet/power wrap over and over. I have a couple friends who use them and they like them pretty well.

Awesome! Jubilee is usually a consistent 4.4 at start and she can hit a 4.3. Singles she hit a pb of 4.28 but that has never happened in regular racing. WOW almost to an ONYX! That is fantastic! Jubilee is working on her FM in Nafa and Flyball Executive in U-Fli.

We used Vet wrap for many years. Then we went to neoprene wraps on the front and Vet wrap in the rear. We ordered them from http://webpages.charter.net/dhfm/ZControl.html

My other aussie uses the vet wrap because some of the neoprene wraps will limit her motion when hitting the box. Just be careful you don't get the ones with the stiff supports. And I would love to imbed some flyball shots of my boy racing but I don't know how....can anyone show me?

Yeah, Rafe will race a 4.2 or faster at anchor but he hasn't gotten the chance to run anchor in a while. We have dogs with issues on our team that need that spot. He loves that spot!

Loving that there are flyballers that do dock diving. I truly think it helped my boy get the idea. And Disc work helped him do UV!

I feel that most dogs need the support. I have a 70 pound GSD running at the box... and Her box is not a 4 foot box it is a 2 on 2 off box. that is what happens when you are 4 ft long and had Bi lat TPO. for must of her flyball career she jumped 10's or 11's. She is ranked 3rd in GSD with 42,000 points. FDGCH. If you noticed the flexion in her wrist. sometimes the big dogs need that extra support of the boots.

Yea Jubilee is running thrid right now and she loves to be at start. We have a lot of up coming dogs so when we get a new team together she will be running start again. We have the same problem...a lot of our dogs need the anchor spot but luckily it is mostly due to inexperience so hopefully that will work itself out. It stinks when you can't run your dog in their most successful position but oh well.

I found out at this years UAD in Jax that the best way to jump Jubilee is to set her up as I do in the lane for flyball and let her rip rather than do the chase. She was jumping 16-17 and then I let her mark her ball, took her to the back of the dock, set her on my feet and gave her her flyball cadance and she jumped a pb of 19'10" lol.
