Dont Miss! Chocolate female 18 months...

Post by gatorblueyes on Fri Jun 27, 2008 6:22 pm

We have a new house guest...foster number four. I will be posting pics later. She is 18 months old and I am pretty much glad she was surrendered. She could pass for a small pig as she is about 10-15 pounds overweight. Apparently it was more important to shave her then tend to her ear infections or parasites. He coat is very dry and flaky. She is very pretty in the face and appears to be a sweet girl. She is still groggy from her spay this morning and I can't convince her to come up the stairs into the main part of the house. I put a blanket down in the foyer and suprisingly Jubilee went down there to nap with her. Jubie is more in watch dog mode but at least the baby finally settled down.

For the life of me, I will never be able to understand how some people treat their dogs (based on your statement that you're glad she was surrendered). It's nice to hear that she's found a good place to recuperate - and make a great new friend in Jubilee! Good luck with her!

Thanks:) My best guess is this pup was free fed as she doesn't seem to understand breakfast/dinner.

My father-in-law free feeds his 7 year old golden and, unfortunately Nelson (the dog) is grossly obese. When we say how bad it is for Nelson, my f.i.l. just shrugs it off and says "well he's happy." We just can't seem to impress on him that Nelson would be HAPPIER if he was about 50 pounds lighter.

Anyway, your foster pup will get the hang of breakfast and dinner in no time with Jubilee as her teacher. Ultimate Air Elation

I really do try to discourage people from free feeding for a variety of reasons. She definately ate her dinner tonight Snickering . We have been going for multiple long walks. We can't do much exercise wise as she was just spayed but I think the long walks and the two sets of stairs will have an impact on her. She ate so slooooooooooooooooow which furthers my thoughts that she was free fed. I am uploading pics now.

She is! She has a very nice spirit about her. She is silly too. Someone is going to get very lucky with her. She is still a puppy for sure though lol.

Cheloe finally went to her forever home today! She went with a very nice couple that just lost their 14 year old lab. She got right in their car and rode off in the sunset I love you

Soon! I am headed out of the country as long as this new tropical storm doesn't cause me any problems. So it won't be until I get back so around Sept. 7th!
