Dont Miss! Black Lab looking for a new home

Post by stephz on Tue Jul 08, 2008 6:43 pm

A girl that I work with is looking to rehome her black lab, Beckham. Unfortunatly her son was just diagnosed as having severe allergies to the dog. The gift was a wedding gift to her from her husband and it has been a really hard decision for them to make. Beckham is 7 years old who still has a lot of pep in him but is a little bit overweight. He is great with kids and is very well trained. They have his papers and he is up to date on all shots and have all of his vet records.

They don't want to bring him to a shelter or give him to a rescue - they want him to stay with them until they find him the right new home.

If you or anyone you know if is interested let me know and I can get more info/pictures.

Thanks Sweet!

Aw how sad. Well if they can't find anyone, the local lab rescue is their next best bet. Where do they live?

There is a really good lab rescue in Illinois/Wisconsin -LEARN - labadoption.org. I know your friend doesn't want to go that route, but maybe just check into them as a last resort - I know some people who adopted two of their three labs from that organization...

Please have the owners contact me via: SPOTvolunteer@yahoo.com

I coordinate transports for dogs & cats either going to rescue or a new adoptive home. I could help to get the word out for Beckham. Also she may want to contact the rescues in her area and ask them to do a courtesty post for her on either petfinder or their website. Mosts rescues are full and would more that glad to do this as a courtesty post rather than take him into rescue. Also ask the rescue to help with an adoption application to be sure Beckham find a great home. This will help to check references of a potential new adopter.
