Dont Miss! Training at Pat Currey's...

Post by Kel on Wed Sep 17, 2008 9:59 am

Hi all,

For those of you in the area, I'll be at Pat Currey's place ( http://curreysfamilypetcare.com/ ) later today (9-17) and then Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (9-23 and 24) for some weight pulling and dock jumping practice. Pat has a very nice dock setup (can be seen on his website) and a rails wpull setup. If anyone cares to join us, feel free. It's $5 for every half hour, and then $2 for each additional dog you bring.

Just about any time is fine with me. Maybe early afternoon? By then it should be warmer so we don't freeze from getting splashed, jumped on, etc. Lol. (since it has been getting cooler lately)

I can bring my camera and vid cam w/the tripod and take some pics/video too if you'd like. I can add whatever we might get to the UAG DVD.

I don't get off work until 4PM on Tuesdays, but I do work at home so I can probably be there 4:30ish. Let me know if that is ok with you. Camera or video would be nice. We "may" have our new video camera this weekend. Art is talking with the insurance adjuster today. We hope to get the camera and TV this weekend.

4:30 is fine with me. Ultimate Air Elation Pat already knows I plan on being there, possibly with some others. I may get there a little earlier, too... probably 3:30 or 4pm.

I would... but we are already trying to decide between two different sport competitions or a SchH practice on Saturday... and we'll be at another competition on Sunday. Oh so Sad Sorry. About 98% of our weekends are already booked with competitions through the end of the year. Heck, I already have events on the calendar for 2009! Oops! And now... if we're not at a dog event, it'll be a mtb race, triathlon, or a 5 or 10k running race instead, I'm sure. Lol.

Maybe Ann could go... not sure?

I have been thinking about possibly going this weekend. Probably on Saturday. Right now I am not sure what all we have to do but Pat's is not far from us so we probably could get over there. I would not be able to make it until afternoon, if I go ride I would do that in the AM.

Afternoon would work for me. I have an appointment in the AM so I would look at something like 1-2pm.

Do we need to make reservations??

I called and talked with Pat and he said that no reservations are needed. You just show up, share with whoever else might be there, and put money in the box (and fill in the info on the check in/out board) for the amount of time you use. It's $5 per half hour, plus $2 for each additional dog you work.

You don't need reservations. However sometimes you do have to wait or share with others. Yesterday for instance, someone came while we were playing. We were almost done, so they waited for us to finish. I don't think Pat takes reservations, it is done on the honor system. I haven't gone on a weekend in a long time so I don't know how busy he may be.

That being said we should probably check his website. I know at one point he had a bunch of weekend activities planned. Whether or not that has all passed I do not know. I may have a couple friends who may come by too. We can try to stagger start times so we all get to play. I should be available by 2. I will confirm as the weekend gets closer. If the weather changes to rain, I may wimp out. My dogs don't care but sometimes I do. It depends on whether it is warm or cold.
