What do I love more than my dogs? Nothing actually...but I do love taking pictures of my dogs!!

I hope you will all enjoy this section of the forum. This will be the official EVENT picture zone for all of you to post your pictures from the events. This way we can keep them all in one place for us to find and also for our sponsors to find if they want to see what goes on.

In addition to the pictures being posted here we are going to make this a little fun.

Here is what we are going to do...

• A new thread will be started for each event and you can post your pictures for that event.
  
• Please make sure you resize your pictures to at least 640x480 before posting so we make sure the pictures don't get cut off.
  
• After a week, we will start another thread with a poll so you can vote on your favorites. The poll will remain open for a week.
  
• The poll is limited to 10 so it may be tough for us to pick a top 10 to make the poll.
  
• Users will be limited to one vote.
  
• The winning photo will be featured on the main UAD site. I think a good spot might be where that fu fu dog was recently posted.
  
• The winning dog will win a free splash at their next event.
  
• The winning photographer will also win a free splash if they are a competitor or a UAD t-shirt.
  
• Don't be concerned if you win and you can't make it to another event until next year. The winners will be tracked so you can still use it next season.
  

Please understand this is a work in progress so the times for posting pictures and how long the poll remains open may have to be adjusted. Also we have not decided how long the pictures will be featured on the main site yet. Since some events are the same weekend or one after the next, we obviously can't leave them up until the next event.

Okay. We have had several events already so we have some catching up to do.

May I make a suggestion? Press Photos taken at the event supercede all other photos, or gets bonus credits/votes and points/votes for the "catch" too

There were some excellent Newsday shots from the Long Island Outdoor Expo. I LOVED the Junior Handler photos of Christina/Sofi and Sarah-Simone/Gumpy. Team Luv a Bulls photos were great and plentyful, too.

Jacksonville Press Photos were great. Molly had a excellent shot jumping into the Sun

I am willing to bring my digital camera to events if someone wants to shoot pics with it of everyone.

The only possible issue I see with press photos is a copyright issue. As long as the source is cited it shouldn't be an issue, but you never know. So, be sure to aks the photo owner if they mind it being posted on the forum/main website. May not be an issue at all, but never know.

I also don't think press photos should get special treatment as far as votes/points, etc. It will be better if the photos are submitted by the people who take them. We have some great photographers here. Amateur photos are better anyway I think for this kind of thing.

I think it's a great idea Matt. This will get rid of the fru fru dog on the homepage once and for all... People can see right away what it is we do and how much fun we have at it.

FYI, my friend "Fluffy" was put up on Valentine's Day.... and removed yesterday. I am rotating dogs at my discretion and when I want to do it.

Anyway, that spot is not a very good location. The reason is a little too complicated for me to go into here. Pre-set pixel ratio and it's thumbnail size, etc... Anything that isn't a suare is seriously distorted. That's why I haven't put up our pics before.

Matt and I are discussing it.

But hey, thanks for your input! We will take that under advisement.

Also, just as everyone knows, indoor events are harder to get good pictures of, so try to keep that in mind.

I have PhotoShop and am willing to crop pics, size them for you, and set them up to whatever is needed, so they will work in the square format. I do it all the time so there is nothing to it.

It would only take me a couple of minutes to do one so you can rotate pics as quickly as you want to.

I have a digital camera that takes sequence shots. All you have to do is hold the shutter button and it will take a pic every 2 sec up to 30 in a row - up to total of 2000 pics.

If we can get someone to shoot, I can bring the camera for them to use and will upload them to photobucket, or wherever, after the event for everyone.

As you know this is a work in progress. I wish we could have had it all finalized before opening it up but I wanted to get it out there before too many events were behind us.

The main reason for this section is to keep ALL of the event photos in one general area. They tend to get lost in all of the other threads after the event has passed. We added the free splash so we could have a little fun with it.

The pictures don't just have to be of our dogs jumping. They can be doing anything as long as they are at the event. My favorite picture that I ever took (of someone elses dog) is the one of Chase at Cherry Fest waiting in line.

Please post any event pictures you want...not just your own dog.
