Blue tarps and carpet to stop the mud!
Re: Virgina Outdoor Sportsmen Classic Aug. 22-24 Last Chance for PURINA
That's a good thing!
I think that Imlay mud stuck to the dock for several events afterwards! Lol.

Ah, yes... that famous Imlay grandstand arena mud- part dirt, part clay, part gravel, part animal waste products, and part fluids from motorized vehicles. And 100% stinky when wet.
Re: Virgina Outdoor Sportsmen Classic Aug. 22-24 Last Chance for PURINA
Well I must say im am counting the days
Me and ginger cannot wait to see everyone and she is ready to jump big
Re: Virgina Outdoor Sportsmen Classic Aug. 22-24 Last Chance for PURINA
First time events are tricky. You never know what to expect. People that jump have to be opened minded just like we are for the first time at a venue. MILT
Mud?!?!?! Did someone say MUD?!?!?!
Well, if you can get a long dock there
(I know you are working hard for all of us, Milt
), and there is the potential for mud
, Colby will be the happiest blabador on the planet!

Re: Virgina Outdoor Sportsmen Classic Aug. 22-24 Last Chance for PURINA
So I have a ?? about purina quailfing. If by august ginger jumps 22 or better in each wave at this event, because we will be there 4 each wave from start to finish Then makes to the finals and wins the event does this mean she could possibly qualify even though we have made it to only one other event (chantilly)where her jumps where all over the map.Its a longshot by all means but i was just wondering if it was possible.
Re: Virgina Outdoor Sportsmen Classic Aug. 22-24 Last Chance for PURINA
The way it worked last year when we tried to qualify for the last chance qualifier for IDC was you had to have jumped over 22 feet twice in the past six months and you had to win the ultimate division that weekend to qualify for the IDC. I think seven won that one with like a 26 foot jump.
Hope that helps, I think we may try to go to this event and see if Sky can pull out another couple 24's or maybe a 25 for that event. Because, not to discourage you but if this is a long dock my guess would be it will take at least a 24'5" to win that event. I bet you will probably get to see at least 5 of the top ten dogs jumping with UAD at that event trying to qualify for the IDC.
Hopefully Ginger will start Jumping BIG for you soon so you can provide more competition for whoever heads out to Virginia.

Thanks for the info.It would be awsome to see sky in person.Ginger wont be jumping in the 25's by then but as of right now she is right around the 22 foot mark. But we will be practicing alot until the event so if we can be in the top 5-6 it would be a great achievement for us
.And if not we will still have lots of fun.
Re: Virgina Outdoor Sportsmen Classic Aug. 22-24 Last Chance for PURINA
The old criteria seems to have changed slightly (since the past 6
months thing was not mentioned in Milt's original post)... BUT, based
off of Milt's first post in this thread, I'd say Ginger would be able
to compete towards the Purina spot, because/if...
1. Ginger has jumped at a previous UAD event.
2. Ginger has not yet jumped over 22' twice. However, if she does so
twice at this event, it will count towards the qualifying criteria. If the event ends up being short dock, the minimum jump distance drops to 19'6".
3. Ginger will need to compete in AT LEAST one Splash at this event,
qualify for Ultimate Finals, participate in Ultimate Finals, and
then win Ultimate Finals.
The above is based off of the following quotes from Milt, posted earlier in this thread.

"This event will be a last chance qualifier for teams to make Purina's Incredible Dog Challenge finals to be held in Oct. at Purina Farms. The winning dog must have previously jumped at a UAD event and have proved capable of jumping over 22 feet at least 2 times at this or one of our other events. Kel this is exactly what I meant. You must have jumped at a previous UAD "this year" not including a Purina qualifier. In other words if you jumped at one of our other events and you just entered a Purina qualifier and not the regular competition your not eligible for qualifying. I want the dogs that frequent our events to have first shot at this qualifier!

Just an update to this event. UV will be at this event and Catch It. Schedule will reflect these changes at the event. This is also a UKC sanctioned event.
