UKC eligibility

UKC eligibility
This is probably a stupid question, but your dog has to be a pure breed to be UKC registered right??
Those of us who have rescue dogs that are "mutts" can't earn UKC titles, but we can earn UAD titles??
Just wondering how it works for us non pure breeds!!

Re: UKC eligibility
UKC has the Limited Privilege Program so all dog owners can participate in UKC performance events. Unlike the AKC ILP program, your dog does not have to look like a purebred, and any mixed breed dog is welcome. You only have to submit the application and proof that your dog is spayed or neutered.

Re: UKC eligibility
Do you know what kind of proof they need to show that the dog is spayed? My dog was spayed when we found her, so I don't have any paperwork.
Re: UKC eligibility
If you can have your vet verify that the dog is spayed, that's fine. They can just sign on the Limited Privilege application, in fact!

Re: UKC eligibility
I have an AKC Registered GSP, and an English Pointer that is registered through the American Field Dog Stud Book Registry... would they be eligible to register with the UKC? What are the advantages to this... we are just starting to get interested in Dock Jumping... and who knows what else will follow.
Thank you for any info you have!

Re: UKC eligibility
UKC would accept both AKC and the American Field Dog as recognized registries for you to complete single registration on both dogs. They would receive full registration privileges. If your dogs are UKC registered, then they can earn titles in dock jumping through the UAD/UKC events. Also, your dogs would then be able to compete in all UKC events: conformation, hunting, agility, obedience, weight pull, and of course dock jumping. As opposed to other dock jumping organizations that require a yearly membership fee to track titles and rankings, registration with UKC is a one time fee to permanently register your dog that gives you access to a lot of activities with your dog.
