some UKC questions
Sara,
In the rules it says that the person throwing is considered the Handler of record. If the dog is registered with UKC to another person do they have to be the thrower? I saw some place, I think, that UKC requires owners to handle their dogs.
Also is there some official UKC process for us to track our UKC legs? Does UKC put them up on the web site anywhere? Do they send us an update every so often or do we need to keep a record ourselves?
When or if one gets a title how does UKC notify you, is it once a year or each time you get a title?
Thanks
Jim

Re: some UKC questions
As to the first question, I think that more applies to conformation. It won't be an issue with Dock Jumping.
They are still working on programming to post the titles. They have to set up a new program with the new abbreviations, so it might take a little while before they will be put up on the UKC website. As to recieving your titles, you will receive a certificate in the mail when your dog obtains a title.

Re: some UKC questions
I know lots of people who handle for the dog's owner in UKC, both in conformation and performance sports. I never do it in sport work, but I have handled for others in the breed ring. So, I believe it only applies to anyone being compensated for their time spent handling another's dog, correct? I know there's a specific rule addressing it, so I'm sure Sara can let us know for sure.
