Dont Miss! AKC/UKC registration question ...

Post by Indy on Tue Mar 04, 2008 1:17 pm

Hi Sara, I'm sorry if this has already been answered, I checked and did not find anything. I have Indy's AKC litter registration cert, I never bothered registering him with AKC because I did not plan on participating in their sports. I hadn't really given this much thought, but ya know, now that there's an event coming up in about week, it occurs to me that it would be really neat if he could get UKC titles too Ultimate Air Elation

Would the litter registration and pictures of him be good enough for UKC registration or do I have to go through the whole registration process with the AKC and then again with the UKC? I would consider LP, but he's not neutered yet and won't be until he's done growing. It's not a big deal for me if he doesn't get UKC titles, it would just be nice Sweet!

Let me ask someone here for sure, but I *believe* if you send in a copy of that certificate and a three generation pedigree, you should be able to register him. You will probably have to order the AKC pedigree online if the breeder didn't give you one, I think it's about $15 bucks.

I'll ask Judy as soon as she gets back!

I asked, and the AKC puppy cert is ok. It's actually what I used for Oskar, I never registered him AKC.

As to obtaining the pedigree, I would definitely recommend ordering it online on the AKC site. 1. it's cheaper, and 2. it's much much faster!

Hope that helps!

Cool! Thanks Sara. I'll stop by their office one day this week and drop everything off.

Of course I bought that darn pedigree when I got Indy and didn't print it out ... off to bang my head against a wall Dang Nab It!
